Apropos of nothing, here’s a random picture of a past cross-stitch project
that took me over a decade to complete because I noticed a stupid mistake and got so disgusted with myself that I stopped stitching for years. (Not really. There were other mitigating factors too, but that mistake did haunt me until I figured out how to fix it.)
This UI is going to take a little getting used to, but so far I wouldn’t say the learning curve has been any steeper than it was with BL. I like the ease of moving the image around in the post. I don’t remember being able to do that on BL, but maybe you can and I just never figured out how. It’s entirely possible. And yes, I did just add this rambling paragraph to get enough text to see how it wraps around the image. That spacing at the top is going to bug me, isn’t it?
First – wow, my cross stitch projects NEVER looked that amazing. I can’t even tell that’s cross-stitch!
Second, yeah, I think you can adjust the amount of spacing around the image somewhere. I’ll see if I can find it and share.
Did you use the classic editor or the block editor? (just curious)
I have no idea which editor I used. How do I tell?
[Edit]: Never mind. Found it. I apparently used the classic editor.
Classic will look like the BL editor did. Block editor … doesn’t.
I just had a look at the block editor and noped straight out of it. @.@
Yep, pretty much my reaction to it too. Intuitive my ass.
I loathe the block editor.
effing WP… turns out there’s no handy UI for fiddling with the image padding. It has to be at the css level for either the whole site or even just for an image here and there. Have I said today how much I miss BookLikes?
Eh. I’ll learn to live with it. I’ll just make a mental note to position pictures at the start of paragraphs so as not to offend my line spacing sensibilities.
